Teachings & Sermons
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."
2 Timothy 4:2 KJV
The Sound that Heals
Obadiah
"There is a frequency in Heaven that the earth is desperate to hear. It’s not just a melody or a lyric; it’s a spiritual release. When the atmosphere of a room shifts, it’s because someone decided to stop just 'singing' and started 'releasing.' Today, we are exploring what happens when the breath of God meets the vocal cords of a believer."
"In 2 Kings 3:15, Elisha said, 'But now bring me a musician.' And the Bible says that when the musician played, the hand of the Lord came upon him. Notice: The prophecy didn't start until the sound was right. Healing follows the sound of worship."
"Today, we aren't just spectators. As the song rises, the chains must fall. As she sings, many are touched—not by her talent, but by the Anointing that rides on the wings of her worship. Prepare your hearts for the Fire and the Power!"
When a singer becomes an intercessor, they are no longer performing; they are positioning the congregation for a miracle. Here are the three pillars of this ministry:
1. The Chariot of Praise
The Bible says God "inhabits" the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). In the Hebrew, this means He sits down or "enthrones" Himself. When the singer begins to worship, they are building a throne for the King to sit on. Where the King sits, His Kingdom rules—and in His Kingdom, there is no sickness.
2. The Sound of Deliverance
In 1 Samuel 16:23, when David played the harp, the distressing spirit left Saul.
-
The Teaching: The sound itself became a weapon.
-
The Application: There is a "Healing Frequency" found in pure worship that targets mental distress, physical pain, and spiritual oppression.
3. The Corporate Touch
Why are "many touched" at once? Because worship creates a Cloud of Presence. Just as the hem of Jesus’ garment carried enough power to heal one woman, the "atmosphere" of worship carries enough power to heal an entire room. One note, hit under the influence of the Holy Spirit, can bypass a lifetime of intellectual arguments and reach the heart directly.
Prayer
"Lord, let the sound of my life be a sound of healing. When I open my mouth, let the Fire of the Holy Spirit travel through the airwaves to touch the broken, mend the wounded, and wake the sleeping spirit."
The Shofar: The Voice of God and the Weapon of the Believer
Obadiah
The shofar is not merely a musical instrument; it is a spiritual conduit. In Hebrew, the word Shofar (שׁוֹפָר) comes from a root meaning to "amend" or "beautify." When we sound the horn, we are calling for the beautification of our souls and the amendment of our atmosphere.
1. The Sound of Sovereignty: Enthroning the King
In the Bible, the shofar heralded the coronation of kings (1 Kings 1:34).
-
The Teaching: When you blow the shofar in your service, you are legally declaring that Jesus Christ is the Sovereign Ruler over that space.
-
The Power: It builds a "throne" in the atmosphere. Psalm 47:5 says, "God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet (shofar)." When the sound goes up, the King comes down.
2. The Sound of Spiritual Warfare: Breaking the Walls
The most famous use of the shofar was at the Battle of Jericho (Joshua 6).
-
The Mechanics: The walls didn't fall because of the volume of the noise; they fell because the sound of the shofar is a frequency of heaven that the structures of hell cannot withstand.
-
Fire & Power Application: Use the shofar to target "walls" in the spirit—stubborn habits, financial blockages, or spiritual oppression. It creates "confusion" in the enemy's camp, just as it did for Gideon’s 300 (Judges 7:22).
3. The Four Sacred Blasts
In ministry, understanding the different sounds allows you to "direct" the flow of the Spirit:
Sound Name Pattern Spiritual Meaning
1) Tekiah One long, straight blast The Summons: A call to attention; announcing the King’s arrival.
2) Shevarim Three broken, sobbing notes The Repentance: The "broken heart" sound that moves God to mercy.
3) Teruah Nine staccato, rapid-fire notes The Alarm: A call to war and a wake-up call for the sleeping spirit.
4) Tekiah Gedolah One extra-long final blast The Victory: The sound of the "Great Jubilee" and final breakthrough.
4. The Bridge Between Heaven and Earth
At Mount Sinai, the shofar blast grew "louder and louder" as God spoke (Exodus 19:19).
-
The Teaching: The shofar is a physical manifestation of the Voice of God. It bypasses the human intellect and speaks directly to the spirit man.
-
The Effect: It clears the "spiritual airwaves," removing the "prince of the power of the air" so that prophecy and healing can flow without hindrance.
Prophetic Action for the Ministry:
"When the atmosphere feels heavy or the 'heavens are like brass,' sound the Teruah to break the resistance. Then, follow with a Tekiah Gedolah to usher in the Glory. Do not just blow; decree with every breath that the Fire of God is traveling through the sound."
Shofar Powerful Spiritual Symbols
Obadiah
The shofar is one of the most powerful spiritual symbols in the Bible, often appearing at moments where God’s divine power and holy fire are revealed.
While the word "fire" and "power" are not always in the same sentence as the word "shofar," they are deeply intertwined in the biblical narrative of Theophany (the manifest appearance of God).
1. The Shofar and the Fire of Sinai
The most famous connection between the shofar, fire, and power occurs at Mount Sinai. The shofar blast was the "soundtrack" to God’s descent in fire to give the Ten Commandments.
-
Exodus 19:18-19: "Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. And when the blast of the shofar sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice."
-
Significance: Here, the shofar signifies the power of God’s voice. It wasn't a man blowing the horn; it was a supernatural sound that grew louder and louder, signaling that the King of the Universe had arrived in His consuming fire.
2. The Shofar and the Power of Victory (Jericho)
In the book of Joshua, the shofar is used as a "weapon" of spiritual power to bring down physical strongholds.
-
Joshua 6:20: "So the people shouted when the priests blew with the shofars... the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city... and they took the city."
-
Significance: This verse demonstrates miraculous power. The shofar blast, combined with a shout of faith, released the power of God to destroy barriers that human strength could not move.
3. The Shofar and the "Day of the Lord" (Fire and Alarm)
The prophet Joel uses the shofar to announce the "Day of the Lord," a time associated with God’s judgment, fire, and awesome power.
-
Joel 2:1-3: "Blow the shofar in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain!... A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns... the Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word."
-
Significance: The shofar here is a call to "wake up" to the reality of God’s power. It warns of a holy fire that purifies and judges.
4. The Shofar and the Power of the Resurrection
In the New Testament, the "Trumpet of God" (widely understood in its Jewish context as a Shofar) is the signal for the greatest display of power in history: the resurrection of the dead.
-
1 Thessalonians 4:16: "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the shofar (trumpet) of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first."
The "Secret" Meaning of the Word
In Hebrew, the word Shofar (שׁוֹפָר) comes from a root meaning "to cut or incise" or "to beautify/improve." This suggests that the sound of the shofar is meant to "cut" through the darkness of our hearts and "incise" God’s power and word into our spirits.
